Mentoring Program

The REAL Rising Up Mentoring Program is a partnership between My People Community Services and the Governor's Prevention Partnership. The program offers young people ages 14–17 a structured, empowering chance to build meaningful relationships, explore life goals, and grow with confidence.
What You’ll Experience
During each mentoring session, youth participate in a mix of structured and engaging activities designed to support growth:
Workshops & Group Conversations:
Focused on career ideas, education paths, life skills, and future planning.
Individualized Case Support:
Tailored guidance to help youth navigate challenges and build personal confidence.
Prosocial Activities:
Encouraging healthy social interaction and community connection.
Exploration & Fun Experiences:
Hands‑on opportunities that spark curiosity and personal discovery.
Mentoring Sessions
Dedicated time to build trust, strengthen decision‑making, and reinforce positive habits.
Our Story
Mentorship That Meets Youth Where They Are, and Moves Them Forward
Real Mentoring is built for youth ages 14–17 who are ready for more than just advice; they need someone to walk beside them. Once referred, each young person is thoughtfully matched with a mentor who supports their growth, helps them see new possibilities, and sticks with them through the journey.
This program helps youth:

What Real Rising Up Mentoring Is All About
REAL Rising Up Mentoring gives youth regular, purposeful time with trusted adult mentors who help them strengthen life skills, expand their horizons, and make positive decisions. Each month, participants spend four hours together in enriching, supportive activities that blend learning, fun, and relationship building.
